I spent 17 years as a broadcast journalist working for a range of local, regional and national stations.  Half of my broadcast roles were at the level of news editor or above.  I can use that experience to help your station.

Video content for broadcast and the web

In the summer of 2015, I supported a FTSE 100 company as it managed a major crisis affecting 330,000 of its customers.  Using my experience as a broadcast journalist, I produced, filmed and edited a number of video news packages to help the company explain its response to the crisis.  As well as posting everything to the web, my pictures and interviews were used by the BBC, ITV, the Daily Mail and several local radio stations.  Web gurus now suggest video is now much more engaging than text.  Let me use my expertise to help you produce compelling and interesting video content that has impact.  Send me an email to sayhello@beambitious.co.uk or call 07973 174319.

News programming

If everyone’s spinning Adele or One Direction tunes then what makes  your station different to the next one along on the dial?  Presumably it’s your local content.  I suspect your news output is part of that.  If you’re not too sure that you’re getting the best out of your news team, then let me help.  Pick up the phone and let’s talk about some of the things I could do.  It might include a review of your news output; coaching for your news staff; a copy-class to help improve scripts or ways of improving forward planning and newsgathering.  You’re also welcome to drop me a note via email sayhello@beambitious.co.uk

The law for journalists and presenters

I had to go a face a man in a wig once because of a mistake that one of my journalists had made.  It wasn’t nice.  Let me help your news staff avoid a day in court by running a law refresher course for them.  I also offer a law for presenters session.  And, if you need legal cover, I can put you in touch with a legal eagle.  Get hold of me via sayhello@beambitious.co.uk or you’re welcome to call 07973 174319.

Freelance news reading and reporting

I’d prefer to be a practicing practitioner (try saying that on-air!) and am open to the idea of doing the job I used to enjoy immensely: being on the radio.  If you’re struggling to find a freelancer, for, say, a day or two, or perhaps some longer holiday cover, then please bear me in mind.  I have a car and my own recording equipment.  At a push I might even be persuaded to go down to the local shopping centre and vox-pop people on the outcome of the latest X Factor result.  I’d probably charge more for that though.  Joke!  You can contact me via sayhello@beambitious.co.uk or give me a call on 07973 174319.  I have a demo so you can hear what I sound like.
